Yikes, have you noticed my blogging absence since AUGUST?? Where has the time gone?!
I have been plenty busy with back-to-(home)school, some home improvements that turned out to be much more major than anticipated (isn't that how it always goes??), and - wait for it - a cookbook I am writing and hoping to finish in time for Christmas.
I have been wanting to do this for years. In fact, once, I was getting close to completion when the laptop I was working on had a fatal hard drive failure, and I had failed to back up my file elsewhere. Duh! That was so demoralizing, I set the project aside for years, but have recently picked it up again. The good news is, the new version is even better than the original was going to be.
My good friend Karen previewed the menu for Week 1 for me, and did a video about it! Please watch below, and don't miss the special bonus at the end!
My good friend Amanda also blogged about a different week here. She has a different bonus recipe on her blog to share.
Click here to sign up for the mailing list and get the Week 1 menu plan complete with all recipes and shopping list as a FREE sign-up bonus. You will be notified as soon as the cookbook is finished and ready to ship.
If you follow the Week 1 menu and would like to do a review, please email it to busyfamilymenuplanning@gmail.com. Please include any links to blog posts or video reviews, if you have any to share. As a small "Thank you!" you will be sent a pdf file of the menu and recipes for Week 2.
I can't wait to have all my best recipes and menus in one place, complete with shopping lists! It will save me much time. I am also happy to have this resource available to my daughters as they approach adulthood.
So, who else beside me is excited for this cookbook to finally come out??!?
I’m so excited about your cookbook coming out I’m about to burst! Haha!
ReplyDeleteWe are almost done with Week 4 and ALL of the recipes have been a HUGE HIT with my husband and little one. Lots of mmmm mmmm mmmmm sounds from my toddler and a very happy husband. 🤗
With our small family size some of the recipes have been frozen for next weeks meals! This will make for an easy cooking week with just reheating freezer meals or thawing pastries. And very little groceries will be needed for next week. Sweet!
Everyone NEEDS this cookbook, whether you have a large or small family! ❤️
This is going to be so helpful to our family! I can't wait! Thank you for putting it together. I can't wait to order one for my family and gift one to my sister!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to not only get a cookbook created by you, but how you already put it into menus with shopping lists is just amazing! We are a family of 7 so far and I know that book will be such a blessing!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I am always excited to outsource my dailies, thank you Mrs. Anderson!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How exciting!! Your recipes are awesome. I have so many of them printed and filed in my cooking notebooks, and I use them often. In fact, I just made your cookie pizza this last month! I know that your cookbook will be a big success, and I can't wait to check it out.
ReplyDeleteYour friends did a great job of reviewing, too! Lovely video!

So excited for this! I love cookbooks and menu plans. But often I am disappointed because the menu plan is full of things we would never eat. But, this cookbook sounds awesome. Week one is full of ideas we would use. And, I know from following you through the years that you can cook! Cannot wait until this comes out. Tiffany F
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to your new cookbook. Mealtimes around here have been monotonous, mostly due to the fact that personally I have been trying to heal a chronic illness and have been placed on a bland, although highly nutritious, healing diet for the past couple of years. For the sake of time and sanity, our family of 14 eat similar to me with a few extras thrown in to keep them satisfied. They have been so supportive and haven't complained once about my diet restrictions and lack luster in the food department, but I know it does get boring. I have determined to try to make them more special meals, to give them some extra lovin' from my kitchen! :) Your cookbook sounds perfect for this season in our lives because the planning will be done for me and the shopping lists will be convenient for my husband and sons since they have been doing the grocery shopping these days. That way I can use my precious energy for the cooking part!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me in many ways through your blog and videos. We have thanked God for the mighty preaching of your husband and the encouragement our family has received through the testimony of your family! :)
With love from Montana!
I signed up for week 1, but have not received it. Was it supposed to come right away or after the cookbook officially comes out?
ReplyDeleteBOOK TYPO. Just wanted to let you know that you have a typo on the pizza recipe. For the crust it says "scant 1/2 cup olive oil (1 cup minus 1/2 tbsp)" I think in the parentheses you meant to say "1/2 cup minus 1/2 tbsp" instead of "1 cup minus 1/2 tbsp.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps! We have really enjoyed the book so far. Looking forward to seeing more.
I tried your Chicago style pizza tonight. It was so good. I did see one minor typo in the recipe. The scant 1/2 cup olive oil says to take 1 cup oil minus 1 tablespoon. No problem for me, but thought you would like to know. The recipe was easy to follow and turned out perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the book sample. My prayers are with your family especially during this stressful time,
Tiffany F
So excited for your new cookbook! Just signed up for week 1, can't wait to try all the yummy food! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI definitely am, I love a good cookbook!
