Mother Daughter Tea 2018

As in years past, our church hosted a Mother Daughter Tea this past Sunday in honor of Mother's Day.

When we first started hosting these tea parties, I didn't even have any daughters. Now I have four! Peter got to come along because he is still exclusively breastfed, and could not have been left home without me for an entire afternoon.

 Miriam (11)

 Rebecca (9)

 Anna (7)

 Chloe (1)

Aren't they just gorgeous?? Of course the food was fabulous, too, but it's the people I was with that made it truly special - my own girls, and the dear ladies and their daughters from our church.

I love all of my daughters. They are sweet, beautiful, kind, compassionate, witty, helpful, and just all-around awesome. I am thankful for this special event we get to enjoy together every year.

Reality shot - too precious not to include.

Through the years, our church has grown so much that we have gone from reserving one table at a tea house, to renting out the entire facility on two separate days. Next year, we might even have to split into three groups.

Happy Mother's Day to all my readers!

    1. Yes, she was singing to him. He only cried for a minute while I was busy.

  5. Love this idea. I was wondering what moms of only sons do, are they allowed to bring little boys or is this event just for ladies and girls? No snark, I'm genuinely curious.

    1. This event is for ladies and girls only, plus nursing infants regardless whether they are boy or girl.

It is called "Mother-Daughter Tea", but one does not have to have a daughter to attend. It is open to all ladies because every lady is a daughter, even if she may not be a mother.

    2. In the past, we have made it open to boys and girls, but our church is simply too large to accommodate that many people now. It's also more special when it's just all moms and daughters. Boys are a bit rambunctious inside that dainty tea house. ;)

    3. Thank you for the response. I love that all women attend even if they aren't mothers themselves, very sweet. I'm sure everyone must look forward to it each year.

  6. What a lovely occasion! That's such a neat tradition for a church to have. You are an amazing pastor's wife - I can only imagine the work you put into organizing all of these church events!

Rebecca strikes me particularly in the category of "WOW, she's growing up!!!" I almost didn't recognize her!

    Your daughters are lovely! :)
