Church Camping Trip

Our church had its annual camping trip a couple of weeks ago, which was a blast. About 200 of our church members were able to attend. When I say 'camping' I really mean 'glamping' as we stayed in cabins with electricity, full bathrooms and kitchens, and heating. Ha!

When the church was smaller we used to have church camp in tents that obviously did not offer any of those amenities, but somehow lots of little kids in diapers and no running water don't mesh well. Not to mention that sleeping on the ground when pregnant or with a baby tucked by my side has never held any appeal for me, and I have a sneaking suspicion many of the other ladies feel the same way.

My 17-year old (half) brother on my Dad's side visited us for 2 weeks in April. The kids had a blast with him and were sad when he had to leave and go home at the end of the camping trip.

We heard preaching every morning and every evening all week long. The kids particularly loved Bro. Chris Segura's sermon that taught them not to grow up and be a 'baby mamma'. It was hilarious, memorable, and oh so true!

This little girl is my name sake - no joke! Little Zsuzsika

We took two day trips to Woods Canyon Lake, which at an elevation of 7,500 ft still had snow along the banks. Our desert rat kids did the only sensible thing and started throwing snowballs and building snowmen.

By the second time we went there, the weather had warmed up a bit and many in the group went out boating on the lake.

Many of my readers have asked about who this beautiful young lady is. She is Solomon's best friend from church.  It is a blessing watching them grow up together through the years.

If you look closely, you can see the chaperones reflected in Solomon's sunglasses... ha!

Boaz loved the bears on his comforter.

We put the pie irons the kids got for Christmas to good use again.

Camp was a blast, and we all came home refreshed and charged up, spiritually and physically.
