  2. Thank you for doing this again I very much enjoyed your last sessions! My question is how did you get your hearts attitude right with being at home and the daily tasks of raising children and keeping the home? I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful baby boy the Lord has blessed us with and I keep a clean and happy home prepare healthy meals make sure my husband is happy etc but sometimes in my heart I find I am not satisfied and long for different opportunities, I constantly remind myself how lucky I am to have a beautiful comfortable home and a hard working husband who makes it possible for me to stay home and I try to practice contentment. Is this something you have ever struggled with? Please help I would love to have not only my actions but my thoughts in the proper role for me
    Many thanks

    1. Howdy! Just visiting this blog for the first time and your comment really stuck out to me. I've been through so many phases in terms of my understanding of women's work since I got married and God grew my heart to want to work in my home. I write a lot more about this with scriptures and stuff on my blog in posts under "Gender" but anyways God has spoken to my heart through the varied activities of women in the Bible that are all useful in the home I believe. Particularly Titus2 says that older women should teach younger women various things about loving a husband etc. The only older christian women I've had to learn from have been women in the Bible but that suffices! One thing God has shown me is that women (regardless of if they are skilled in art) really reflect God's creative nature. He has given us amazing abilities to invent things while under godly spiritual leadership. In that sense the helper is so qualified for the task that she writes the job description and performs it. For instance I decided my husband needs me to serve in the areas of our finances. Not providing which God clearly tells Adam to be responsible for in Genesis 2 but in negotiating our debt and researching finance solutions. I use my love of chemistry to make natural cleaners etc. I also find communication resources for my husband as he lacks those skills. And I pray for his spiritual strength and for his problem solving skills at work daily while he is there. I have come up with various ideas to serve the needs of the poor using my same skills I use at home as inspired by 1 Timothy 5 such as packing lunch boxes etc. I believe women were created to use any skills even professional ones in the sphere of influence of the home. Those with science skills may help moms who have children needing special diets come up with creative substitues. The possibilities are endless. God had me ask my husband to lead me in understanding the skills I have especially ones I don't think are useful in the home. Then God helps me convert them to Biblical homemaking. In that way I can never get bored. One of those ideas was my blog. I write what the Holy Spirit gives me as confirmed by scripture. I have a natural health online business as well that certainly helps me bless my husband and home because of what I learn in doing it and it takes me out of my home for social purposes when I want it to. I hope God provides for you as well exhilarating possibilities of all the many ways your skills are needed at home and work that fulfills you in Christ Jesus :-) (my email: contactme@wifeoutsidethegate.com)

  3. I have a 20 month old baby girl who is very much a mummy's girl. She refuses to go to my in laws and even my parents who she sees on a regular basis. I am a stay at home mum and have had a few comments that it because I spend to much time with her. I do take her to play groups and we are at our church 4-5 days a week so she has a lot of interaction with people. But she's is terrified if anyone tries to talk to her or hold her.
Have you had this issue with any of your babies and if so do they out grow it? Or should I not give in to her everytime she cries for me?

    1. Hello! This is my first time visiting this blog and as I am extra lonely just thought I would say hello. I think it is absolutely FABULOUS that you spend so much time with your young child! praise God for you and the wisdom He has given. I did most of my learning about God indirectly via a secular environment due to my circumstances. I learned from a beloved early child development class that humans develop their social and cognitive health by interacting a TON with mom and dad in the early years. That is their socialization needs not day care. God be with you! (my email: contactme@wifeoutsidethegate.com)

  5. My question for Q&A: What type of work is Solomon doing? What age will he finish homeschooling? Can you share what a young man like Solomon can do for work? I have a 14 yr old, but his life (time) is consumed with school, after school sports, church and youth ministry activities. No time for work, and I know it's a shame. I need to get this right before I miss the boat here.

  6. Praise the Lord. I have 2 questions: can you describe in detail how you potty trained your children and at what age on average they were all completely trained.

Also, do you have any tips for teething? My husband doesn't allow teething tablets or the gum numbing stuff or any kind of medicine. My daughter is 13 months and getting her first molars on both sides and she has been **miserable**.

    2. Actually, that was from Paul's letters to the church. Jesus never said anything about the subject of women teaching the gospel. We need to be very careful with Paul's letters. They are NOT scripture, even he said they are only letters. We need to focus on what Jesus said.

  11. Do you think it's wise to go through an entire pregnancy without taking prenatal vitamins? Even if they're whole food, non- GMO, are they necessary?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didnt take any prenatals with all 3 of my children and havent seen any ill effects. My mom had ten kids and didnt take them. She suffered tooth loss and some other things because she was anorexic through the pregnancies! (Terrible I know) Its all about getting proper real nutrition, women didnt have prenatal vitamins for most of history! Most vitamins are synthetic junk anyways.

      Delete
    2. And women died in sky-high numbers from malnutrition, poor health, and pregnancy-related complications throughout history. Until the advent of modern medicine, pregnancy was the most dangerous event in a woman's life. Even today, in poor countries, where access to modern medicine, including prenatal care, is either highly restricted or non-existent, maternal (and infant) mortality rates are very, very high compared to those of developed, industrialized nations. So, your argument is fallacious and is a really irresponsible, bad advice. Pregnancy taxes a woman's body, especially in cases of closely spaced pregnancies. A woman's body has to provide adequate nutrients not just for the woman, but for the rapidly developing fetus as well. Otherwise, both maternal and infant health would suffer. Why would you dispense such a terrible advice, especially since based on your comment, you have no training in either obstetrics and gynecology or pediatric medicine or nutrition? A woman and her baby deserve every opportunity to minimize risks and maximize the likelihood of favorable outcomes of a pregnancy. Why advise someone to decrease the odds of a positive outcome for maternal and infant health by foregoing prenatal vitamins and based on anecdotal evidence at that? (Your argument is as rational as "my grandfather lived until the age of 92 years, and he both smoked and drank; therefore, cigarettes and alcohol are not harmful to human health.") Just because your family suffered no adverse outcomes does not mean that this woman and her baby's health would not suffer. You know nothing about her health history, her family's medical history, her nutrition and exercise habits, her health risk factors (Does she have diabetes? High blood pressure? Anemia? Heart problems? Is she underweight?), and yet, you confidently advise her not to take prenatal vitamins. And as a related matter, synthetic "junk" is a purified, highly concentrated combination of critical vitamins and nutrients. Way to disparage science while using a computer and Internet-fruits of scientific progress-to do so. The "since it is natural, it is healthful and desirable" sentiment is a fallacy. Cyanide, uranium, and lead are perfectly natural substances, but they are lethal. Similarly, synthetic medical products, such as chemotherapy drugs and insulin injections for diabetes sufferers, save lives and improve quality of life. Please refrain from advising on such important matters without have knowledge, training, and experience to do so.

When and how did you start/teach the older kids to take care of the younger ones?
When do you move the baby to their own bed? Do they share beds or rooms with their siblings?
What does your daily schedule look like from the time you wake up until you go to sleeps? How do you manage your time and stick to it? Do you have any children that are hard to trust and how did you deal with that?

  15. Hi Zsuzsanna! I'm really looking forward to another Q&A! I'd love to hear your thoughts and advice on something that has been lingering on my mind over the last year.
I am a stepmom and my stepchild made a bad decision about a year ago that has affected (and continues to affect) mine and his father's relationship, and our relationships with him, negatively. I don't believe my issue is with forgiving him for the bad decision he made (and made again), as I still love him and want the best for him, have prayed to God to help me forgive him, and I am trying to understand that it was a mistake (at least the first time?), a bad decision the second? But rather my issue is with trust. I do not, and cannot, find it in me to be able to trust him again, especially after we were very honest with him about just how wrong his choices were, and as clear as we made it that it was entirely unacceptable in the LORDS eyes and in ours and that in our home we will serve the LORD. Currently the trust is nonexistent and when in our home he is under constant supervision (we installed webcams) and has not been allowed to touch any electronics while in our home in about a year now (computing was his all time favorite activity).

Just a little background info...He is turning 14 this spring, but he is far behind the average 14 year old in maturity and in cognitive ability, he attends a special needs school as his birth mom will not allow him to homeschool along with our other five children, and we did seek out individual counseling for him immediately following the first incident that he attends twice monthly. We are seeing the effects of public schooling on his character every day also.
Continued prayers that I will ever be able to "feel comfortable" around my stepson and in my own home again.
    Thanks for listening!

  17. Hello, I've actually wandered over to this post from your older one about Hyperemesis Gravidarum and H Pylori colonies. I suffered two severe cases, the second one was very near deadly on more than one occasion. All this to say I am a cynic, I am deathly afraid of another pregnancy, but my heart knows God has more children for my little family. I am the type who researches things to the end before trying them and so my question for you is have you read or heard of any books about eradicating h pylori naturally or are there any specific resources you could point me to? Thank you in advance,

  19. Do you have any advice for afterpains? I'm pregnant with my 4th and afterpains have progressively gotten worse each baby to the point where they are more painful than my labor. Also, what set you and your family on the more holistic route? Was it biblical convictions, health issues...?

    Replies
    1. Zsuzsanna, you can post this (or not!) if you'd like - I thought I'd chime in here since this is something I've experienced.

Shelia - Afterpains have been a huge problem for me. With my first baby, they were immediate and intense, and completely prevented me from holding the baby or even being interested in holding him. And the afterpains continued for a good six weeks (possibly more).

I've worked hard on this problem, and my afterpains have improved with each birth. They're now over in a few days, and aren't nearly as bad.

      Here's what I do:

      (1) Calcium-magnesium liquid supplement during the third trimester and during the postpartum.

      (2) Immediately after the birth (within 30 seconds) I take a maximum dose of Advil (4 pills) and a maximum dose of a good afterpains tincture (look online). I continue with that for the first couple of days.

      (3) As soon as possible, I utilize placenta medicine. I don't know if you're okay with that, but it helps SO much. I make placenta smoothies (piece of placenta, orange juice, mixed frozen berries, yogurt) and do that 1-2 times per day. It is super-helpful.

Hope any of that helps you with your next baby!!

  22. Hi Mrs Anderson,
I have a 20 month old baby girl. She had always been a Mummy's girl. But she is extremely clingy and screams if anybody else tries to hold her. This includes my parents and in laws who see her at least once a week.
She interacts with others kids pretty well.
I am a stay at home Mum and I've had several people tell me that it's because I spend to much time with her. Have you had this issue with any of your children? Is so, do they grow out of it? Or should be more letting her spend more time with family?

My question: What have you learned since you did your last show, or in the last couple of years? I'm thinking of life-lessons, etc. Parenting teens comes to mind, but I'd love to hear about anything. I find that I learn SO much every year that I am in this parenting/homeschooling job, and I'd love to hear about what another mother (further along in the journey than I) has learned.

      Feel better soon! :)

    2. Zsuzsanna, thanks so much for answering my question!! I appreciate it very much. "Toddler brain, man brawn" - love it!

I also loved hearing your wheat-free experience, and I hope you'll be able to blog more about it in the future! Such exciting stuff. Going wheat-free has done SO much for our family - it's brought my husband and son's severe headaches under control, and it also pretty much cured my severe seasonal allergies, just like your experience. I haven't yet learned to bake with einkorn, but I'd like to in the future.

So much of what you said in your show (just finished watching!) really resonated with me - it's things that I too am learning, though I'm far behind you.

One comment on the question about sibling bickering: This is something that is a big struggle in our household. I know that it's bad, and I know that it needs to be stopped, but my constant work over the past 4-5 years has not seemed to yield much success. This is a constant source of heartache and frustration. Thus, it would be absolutely awesome if, when addressing this (or other parenting issues) in your shows, you could offer some concrete "if, then" statements, such as the actual steps that you take in dealing with sibling bickering. For those of us who are struggling but not seeing results, that would be super-helpful.

I was sorry to hear your lowered opinion of Azure! I wonder why they're not as good as they used to be! I've been using them less often this past year just because of pregnancy nausea and because of an inconvenient time/location (my drop moved).

Loved your comment of "my style of decorating is cleaning up messes" - boy, is that me!!! Yes!!!

Thanks so much for all the work you put into this! I really enjoyed listening, and, as always, learned so much from you. I really appreciate your hard work!!

  30. To Anonymous with the 20 month old girl,
Lots of stay at home moms give huge amounts of attention to their children. Most do not scream in terror when another approaches them. This is a sign of anxiety that will only be made worse if you terrify her by handing her over. For many children, given the security, they will eventually come out of it. And if not, as she gets older there are so many great therapies and strategies that help them to be successful and productive. There is anxiety in my husbands family. Most of the children are treated the way I've explained and are ending up doing great. The ones who's parents thought it was all nonsense and handed the screaming child over traumatized them, and if they thought they were clingy before, soon realized what a huge mistake they made. Lots of therapy is helping them, but after the trust was broken, and so much pain could've been avoided. Please forgive me for addressing this but my heart was in my mouth thinking about your daughter after what I've seen. They only have us to protect them. Explain to the well intentioned grand parents right now she needs some extra security. If she doesn't come out of it on her own their support will be invaluable with the great therapies and strategies that are available.

    2. What age do you think is good to start a child with homeschooling?
What do you do with high energy children? I have a 4yo but she has an extremely short attention span, and is very high energy! She usually gets up around 7am doesn't nap, and plays outside 90% of the time, and is sometimes still not tired for her 8pm bedtime. Even when reading to her she can be quiet and listen but can not sit still.
We like to sing and listen to hymns on YouTube. Both my daughters enjoy dancing in the living room while they play. Mostly just twirling, and bouncing/jumping a little. Nothing over the top or provocative. Is dancing to hymns at home something you would discourage? Encourage? Or just let it be?

Due to financial constraints, I cannot afford medical intervention or have a midwife at the birth of my second child. 1. Jillian,

This doesn't apply to third degree or worse, but this midwife has an excellent informative post on tearing.

      https://midwifethinking.com/2016/01/13/perineal-protectors/

With my first (a homebirth), I had second degree lateral tears which I gladly left alone to heal for future births. With my second (also homebirth), I had a second degree midline tear which was stitched at the hospital after post-partum hemorrhage. The doctor said my tear was just like an episiotomy. If I had been prepared for ending up at the hospital, I would have asked them to NOT stitch me up and let the wound heal as it may for future births.

The midwife's post helped ease my worries for my births! Hope it helps!

  42. I hope you get to all these questions! I will be eagerly watching. My question is your thoughts on foster care parenting. I am married with three little ones and ive always felt so incredibly sorry and sad for children that dont have a nice home to be raised in. I know kids shouldnt be taken away from their parents in the first place, but they are, and I so want to be a foster parent to a baby or toddler. I would only want to care for the little ones so I know my children are safe from being abused by older children. Is it wrong to care for someone elses child since it will take time away from my own? I am a stay at home mom with my kids.

  43. Hello Mrs. Anderson

Is it still normal for 4 year old to have temper tantrums almost every day, most days are not extreme tantrums but the fact that are so often when he doesn't get his way... I am a stay at home mom and try to practice a biblical discipline but spanking doesn't seem to work, most times he doesn't even cry and I spank hard enough to cause pain, I try to be consistent, but it doesn't seem to work...in the past several months he is scared sleeping alone, specially at night, we have to leave a light on. We have been to the mall and all of a sudden he start almost screaming and crying wanting to leave the place, I can see in his face he is scared and we ask him what is wrong but he doesn't communicate very well, all he says sometimes is "scary". So just wondering if you have dealt with a child who struggled with fear and how you handled it... Thanks, God bless

  44. I really hope you haven’t answered this question before, but, here goes. When I was a young teen, my unsaved parents put me on birth control, assuming that I’d be fornicating sooner or later. Thank God I eventually got saved (by your husband’s preaching, actually), and met my husband. We went to marriage pure, but by then I’d been on damaging artificial hormones for many years. I’ve been married now for almost three years, and we have no children. My cycles are still very irregular, and I fear I may be infertile from years on birth control. Do you have any advice about foods/natural remedies for balancing hormones or seeking help from doctors (to balance hormones, not to conceive, obviously) in a godly way? I don’t want to go back to the same people who decided it was a good idea to put a 13 year old on birth control.
Anyway, thank you so much for your blog and also your husband’s preaching. It’s impacted my life so much.
    Many blessings,
    Molly

    3. There was a post here touching a top of an iceberg of this topic ;) http://stevenandersonfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/body-weight-and-fertility.html

I myself am struggling with infertility, and I advise you to check blood work for hormones, then you can tackle the problem from there. Do the research for OBGYN who knows what is what and will be willing monitor you for AT LEAST 1 year before trying any artificial conception (and this is the point where you remind her that you are interested only in restoring healthy hormone cycles and spontaneous ovulation ;) if she looks at you like a UFO just change the doctor :D).
If USG monitoring is too expensive try charting your cycles first, less expensive and you learn A LOT about your body. Look up terms like PCO, PCOS, thyroid diseases, Insulin resistance, hyperprolactynaemia, etc. Those can be addressed at first with natural/herbal remedies and they help a lot of women :) I've joined online community for women trying to conceive and there is ton of knowledge and experience. Sadly its not in English so I cannot recommend any. Most importantly constantly educate yourself on women reproductive system and on yours unique one, because we are not all the same :) God bless!

  45. Wow, it seems like only a few months since you've done one to me too! I don't really have a question lol, but thank you for all that you do. I've learned so much here about motherhood and can't wait until it's time for me to start a family of my own:)

  46. Do you normally decline ultrasounds and/or doppler checks during your pregnancies?
Also, do you think these things can be harmful to the baby?

I am 14 weeks pregnant with my second child and had all of the routine ultrasounds with my first but so far have declined having any with this one. I am tempted to find out if the baby is developing normally but God has put it on my heart to trust in Him and avoid these technologies unless absolutely necessary. My midwife and husband are very supportive of this choice but I am just curious about you opinion on the matter. Thanks!

  47. Dear Mrs. Anderson,
PLEASE don't take my question the wrong way, I sincerely don't understand your position on this subject. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you believe that all male OBGYNs are perverts, young women should prepare to become a wife and a mother one day and married women shouldn't work outside of the home. In an ideal world where everybody is Christian, who would ever become an OBGYN? Or do you think that such professions should be left to unbelievers? But in that case wouldn't it be hypocritical to use their services when needed? While I do agree with you that most pregnancies don't need madical intervention and would only require a skilled midwife, there are cases where you would need a doctor to save a pregnancy or a woman's life. I believe you had a male doctor perorm an operation to save your twin pregnancy.
Thank you for taking the time to answer!

  52. When do you find time to read your Bible? Do you read it everyday (on your own, not with the kids)? How often do you read it cover to cover? Do you have a certain approach to reading (ex: to study, memorize..)? I've recently set a goal to read it cover to cover 20x bc shamefully I haven't done it since salvation many years ago. I know there are no shortcuts in doing it (bc that goal will take me a few years), but I'd love to know what you do. I'm on my 3rd go 'round!

  53. Do you believe a man and a woman need a marriage license in order to be biblically married in the U.S.? So long as they state their vows in front of witnesses and recognize their marriage until death would a piece of paper stating that the state recognizes their marriage make it anymore founded? Does what the state has to say really hold any bearing on a biblical marriage? Every time I've asked anyone this question they always just state that we are to follow the laws of the land and in the U.S. People get marriage licenses. But these people can never expand on that topic.

I really hope you can help me out with an answer!
    Thank you!

  54. Dear Zsuzsanna,

Wow! I waited too long to post my questions! I hope you can get to them. I've been thinking for a few months what I would ask you if I could and then you posted your upcoming Q&A! Thank you for taking the time to do these; there are few women who have experienced the path I would like to pursue as a mother! Your wisdom and knowledge is very helpful!

First, I have a newborn and a two-year old. Who would have guessed that babies could leave so many scratches and bruises on Mama? Do you have any advice for a mother to maintain some semblance of 'personal space' or grow literal 'thick skin' with two pulling, scratching, kicking babies?

Second, like an above commenter, I too would like to know of books or resources other than the Bible on discipline, especially for when I say "Come," come now, type of stuff...without ruining the playfulness of my children..ie. diaper change time and baby runs away wanting to be chased, but I just really need to make sure the poo doesn't end up on everything.

Thank you! Sent my folks the KJV documentary. They've thrown out the other versions!

  55. Dear Mrs Anderson,

Thank you for choosing to do another Q & A. I'm so excited to watch it. Also know that I both notice and appreciate the time you take out of your busy schedule to serve others.

My question is in regard to dating and marriage. Currently I am dating a young gentleman. It's a newer relationship. At the moment, I'm not quite sure if he's the one that God has for me. But he is very kind to me and he is saved. Does the Bible offer any guidance on how to determine that someone is the right choice to be one's spouse? How did you know that your husband was the right man to be your spouse? And how would you suggest that we assess the possibility of marriage with someone we are seeing? Thank you, EH

PS. Input from other readers of the comments is also welcome. Thank you all.

    1. Luke 5:16 "And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed." First I would make sure this man raises no red flags in any ways, fits all the uncompromising qualities you need in a husband (Christian, hard-worker, pure heart, body and mind), is pursuing you with the intent of marriage, and you are physically attracted to him. Also make sure you know his family and your parents respect him and approve of him.
If you answered yes to all these questions, and you still feel unsure, follow in Jesus' steps and "retreat in prayer" for several days, with no contact between you. In the silence of fasting and prayer, the Lord speaks clearly to our hearts. He will either give you great peace about being this man's wife for life, or a clear feeling that you're meant to be another man's wife.

  58. I have two "obstacles" in my homemaking that are sources of stress, frustration & in some cases, anger (not righteous anger)....they are naptime and meal planning. i have three girls: rhyan, 3..almost 4, piper, 2, and willow, 7 months. naptime is the worst. the two older girls share a bed (a double bed) & at bedtime, go straight to bed (well, after i've read & got them water & a snack) at naptime, they put up a fight. they talk & play & romp around. i feel like ive tried everything. i've spanked, taken stuffed animals (or whatever "lovie" they chose to go to bed with them), explained they are making me & God sad by not obeying, screamed/yelled..how do/did you get all your children to nap so you could get something done? meal planning is another struggle...i'm just terrible at it. its ridiculous that i feel out of ideas because of the internet/resources available, but it's like i'm overwhelmed with all the options (not just for food), but meal planning structures & whatnot. how do you plan your family's meals? do you plan breakfast, lunch, dinner? this has become harder recently as we've decided to eat more healthily for health reasons & i'm just overwhelmed. would you share a typical week meal plans?

i just realized there's one other thing i really struggle with & thats STUFF. Specifically toys. my kids have so many toys. i haye the clutter & mess..i have a fully finished basement that you cant even walk yhtough due to all the overflow of toys. do you have this issue? how do you limit it (like what people get your kids for christmas/birthday) i want to just get rid of it all, but i feel bad knowing people paid money for these items & i feel like it would be wasteful/ungrateful to just toss or donate them.

  61. Hi Mrs. Anderson, I would love to hear your views on whether or not Bible believing churches should do outreach to other religions in terms of putting on interfaith events or having guest speakers. I yearn to learn more about other religions from a cultural perspective but am not sure how to go about it since I can't find a church that engages in these types of activities. Blessings! -Julie

  65. I have a question pertaining to dating, I have recently been getting to know a girl. On the first date, I gave her the gospel and she got saved! She has been attending church with me, reading her Bible and I have been talking to her about baptism. She also came out soul winning with me this past week! How long did it take for you to grow in terms of getting on board with what your husband expected and believed (dress, doctrine, child rearing, etc.)? This girl is newly saved and obviously has more to learn (as we all do), However, not everyone that is saved will follow Jesus and I want to be discerning to whether or not she is coming to church and soul-winning just because I want her to or because she wants to, if that makes sense? any advice??

  66. I know Pastor Anderson believes the King James Bible is the only translation we should use. What about people wj\ho do not speak English, such as people in Indonesia, Qatar, China, etc. Would missionaries have to teach them English first until they were able to read a King James Bible since a translation in their language was not acceptable.

  67. I have related question: what about when woman gives someone the gospel and this person wants to be baptized right away (as it was with Philip and eunuch - Acts 8:36-38), for the sake of argument lets travel to my home country with almost no bible-believing churches, in that case can woman baptize? o.O It always bothered me...

  68. Hello Mrs Anderson,
I just found out my nine year old step son has been watching pornography on his iPad at his mother's house ever since the start of school. She told us about it today and Thursday will be the first day we see him since hearing this. I have two toddler daughters of my own and I'm scared, shocked, and don't know what to do or think. I homeschool my eldest daughter and stay home with my children all day everyday. My husband and I are Bible believing Christians and something like this would have never happened in our home because we don't give our children unfettered access to tv or internet or any other type of media. Other than prayer, I need serious help with a course of action. Thank you for your time and everything you publish in your blog. You and your husband have been a blessing to my family in more ways than I can count.

  69. Any advice for moving to AZ to attend Faithful Word Baptist Church? My husband is looking for a job there and I am 6 months pregnant with first child. The church we currently attend won't allow infants in church, nursery is required. My husband has talked with the pastor so many times about this and he won't budge. We decided that we will move. Do you know of any midwives there that will take me this late in my pregnancy? Is there a midwife that you can recommend? Which midwife have you used for your homebirths? Any other advice for moving there is welcome :)

  70. So maybe I can get this one in under the wire :) My son turns 15 next week (just a bit younger than your oldest). I have struggled with staying close to him as he becomes a young man. We were always super close, but as he gets older things have gradually shifted. He has a great relationship with my husband (his dad), and confides in him, but not so much in me anymore. Have you experienced this with your teenage sons? How have you navigated the change in the relationship dynamic between having a young son and a young man? I would appreciate your insight. Thanks!!
