Our family is growing!

I'm not going to keep you guessing with cute pictures of kittens (though we had some) - no, the addition we are expecting is of the human kind - another little baby. :)

This ultrasound picture was taken when I was 7 weeks along.

And yes, just ONE baby. After all we went though with the last pregnancy, I was eager to find out that with only one baby on board this time, things should hopefully be blissfully uneventful.

I am currently almost 13 weeks, so only days from entering the second trimester. This means baby is due in the latter half of May. All things considered, I am feeling well. Even when the morning sickness was at its peak, I was able to go camping, and was also fine on my little getaway last week. Be on the lookout for a more detailed post on what is helping me to keep the nausea at bay. I have been more tired than usual, but getting some extra hours of sleep each night has been helpful.

There are several other posts planned that address issues of answering the large family haters. Stay tuned! :)

  3. Congratulations from Fort Worth, TX! This is very exciting! I'm also due at the end of May on the 28th, on my daughters bday actually. Only my Stedfast family knows. Nobody else on FB knows yet. I had 2 miscarriages at the beginning of this year so I'm waiting as long as I can handle it. We are so happy for y'all.

  11. Life will be even busier for you now with a ninth child on the way. I hope that the ladies at your church can help when the pressures of everyday living become too much. I left a comment on one of your earlier posts about your 15th wedding anniversary trip. I would welcome a response to the points I raised in that comment. Thank you.

    1. One of the fantastic things about a large family is that you don't necessarily need ladies from church to help because we are raising fantastic helpers right in our own homes who are willing to pitch in! :)

  24. I ran across your blog while searching for things that could possibly help HG. I suffered severely with HG, spent 40 days in the hospital with a pic line etc. I just got a positive on a pregnancy test and would love to hear what has been helping you! Please post soon, is try just about any (safe) thing that can help me avoid that horrible disease. Thank you! And congratulations on your new addition, happy to hear you've managed to keep things at bay!

  25. Greetings from Nova Scotia,
Congratulations Zsuzsanna! I am looking forward to your future posts on morning sickness and HG (as we have this in common) and would love to hear what has worked for you. I am almost 24 weeks with baby no.4 - it's been a difficult pregnancy but feeling blessed. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers.

  26. Congrats! Can't wait to hear what's been helping your morning sickness. I've suffered with it and ended up taking Unisom, which really helped but I kind of feel guilty taking medication. It's supposedly safe but I still get concerned. I was due in May as well but miscarried last month. It was a blighted ovum. I had one in April too. I'm afraid I might be getting too old. I never miscarried until I was 41 and had 7 healthy pregnancies. I just turned 42.

  28. Congratulations :) I was wondering if I could ask your views on this; Bryan Denlinger and his wife brought out a video on natural free birthing (on YouTube). In it they said that getting ultrasounds was dangerous for the baby. Have you ever looked into this? It has me concerned now for my next pregnancy as I will need 2 weekly ultrasounds due to a previous surgery.
