Easter Photos

We had our Easter dinner on Saturday this year, to make things easier on Sunday, which for us is typically a very busy day. That worked very well, so I think it will become our new tradition.

On Sunday morning, the kids had a treasure hunt, in which they found letters that would spell the location of the collective "Easter basket."

Traditionally, we give the boys new swim trunks, and the girls new dresses. I had a ton of super cute pictures of the girls that morning, but somehow sadly I accidentally deleted them from my memory card. Waaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Okay, there are plenty of other pictures to make up for the loss, at least a bit.

Since we had just done family photos in the fall, we didn't feel the need to drag along a photographer just so we parents could be included in the pictures. So my husband went home to get lunch started, while I took pictures of the kids at a favorite nearby spot.

  9. Are tattoos a sin? I ask because a 19 yr girl in my church just got one and I am not sure what the bible says about them. I know the people in my church are not happy and are praying and fasting for her.

  10. Hi Zshuzsanna, What a blessing it was meeting you and your beautiful children today!! I wish I wasn't in such a hurry:( Your Easter photos are just beautiful, it looks like the little duck pond adjacent to Sweet Tomatoes, we've taken family photos there too! We have so much in common, I feel like meeting you was a Divine arrangement, so we'll definately have to plan a visit to your church sometime in the near future. Enjoy the bounty of berries! ~Lisa

    1. Lisa, it was a joy to meet you! I'd love to get together again sometime, maybe at the park so the kids can play.

The photos were taken at a business park near where we live. It's deserted on the weekends, so we love letting the kids ride their bikes in the huge parking lot, and taking family photos.

  12. I take your not answering me as that no they are not a sin(tattoos). You are always the first to talk about what is sinful, so for you to not it leads me to believe that the people in my church are wrong about them.

    1. My apologies for the late response. I wish I had time to respond to every single comment, as I truly love getting them, but it just doesn't work out that way (unless my family is willing to give up food and clothes...).

Tattoos are most definitely a sin: (Leviticus 19:28) Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

Tattoos are also permanent. I used to think it was possible (though expensive) to remove them, but have since learned that that is not so. I am thankful I never got any, nor was ever tempted to get any because I have a needle phobia, and like my skin just fine the way it looks. It's one of those things where even once people realize that it was a bad idea to get one, they are now stuck with a very visible display of their choice for life, even though they may well have come to regret it. So I don't look down on people with tattoos - some people's sins are just a little more visible than others, but we all have sins in our lives. The only reason to point out that tattoos are wrong is so young people will beware and not make the same mistake.
