Update on Dr. Hovind

New Address:
Kent Hovind #06452-017
FPC PO Box 9000
Berlin, NH 03570

Well, THAT was quite a trip! Tuesday, Oct 16, 2012, I was in the Oklahoma City BOP transfer center. That morning I got a new 'celly' named Victor Chavez Jr from Dumas, TX. He was being sent to Three Rivers, TX. We had a great conversation and I was able to lead him to the Lord! He was so-o-o-o-o 'ripe for the pickin' (as I teach my grandkids in the new 3 book series-The Adventures of the Hovind Grandkids- see [edited to remove name and email address]). I bet you know someone (or will meet someone today) who is 'ripe for the pickin' and if you ask God He will show you who it is. Better yet, just give every piece of fruit a little tug as you walk by and see if it comes off. :))

Anyway, I don't have Victor's inmate number but I bet you can get it on or someplace like that. We got as far as Mt. 5:28 in our reading when he was called to go. He is HUNGRY for the Word! Please pray for him and send him some Christian books and literature to help him grow in the Lord.

I went to bed at 10 pm Tues. HOPING for my first good night's sleep but, at 2:30 am Wed. they woke us up and said "pack your stuff" (THAT was easy! 3 pieces of paper.) About 100 of us gathered to be SLOWLY processed out. Shackles, belly chain and handcuffs on at 3:30 and on the plane by 8 am. We flew to Atlanta, dropped off some and picked up some and flew to Newburg, New York. LOTS of busses and vans were waiting to take us various places. Our bus went to downtown Brooklyn to the hold over center where, at 5 pm we FINALLY got the shackles off and got a bologna sandwich! Wow! I was thinking of the children of Israel who WALKED 500 miles in chains to Babylon! I bet that took longer than 12 hours!

We drove right by the new "freedom" tower going up on the spot where the twin towers were. See for more on why they REALLY came down! We saw the Statue of Liberty and I wondered what she was thinking of America's prison $y$tem? Here she was holding up her torch offering freedom for the 'huddled masses yearning to be free' as a bus load of prisoners in shackles drove by. America has 5% of the world's population and 25% of the world's prisoners! By FAR the largest % in the world. We have about 10X more per capita than most European countries. I think somebody discovered this is a great way to make LOTS of money! God's perfect law (Ps. 19:7) NEVER calls for prisons AT ALL. See I Tim 6:10 or read "The Kennel" by Elijah Green on Amazon or on for more on that! In the Bible you got a fine, a beating or executed for your crimes. LOTS cheaper and better for families! -see Exodus and Deuteronomy for more on that.

Anyway, in Brooklyn we sat crowded in small stifling rooms till 11:30 pm when we finally got into a cell with a bed! I was sleeping like a rock (actually-no one knows for sure how they sleep but I was sleeping HARD) when the guard knocked on the door at 3:30 am to get processed out again! Shackles on by 4:30 and onto a bus to drive across Connecticut and stop in RI and finally at Fort Devens, NY where they took the shackles off at 11 am and 4 of us rode in a van to Berlin (they pronounce it burlen), NH. The drive up was beautiful! It is a little too late for the flaming colors the trees are famous for but still incredible! We got to the camp about 2:30.

The prison has been built for about 2 years but was sitting empty. It is a medium security for about 1800 (none here yet) and a camp next door for 120. There were 47 campers here but we bumped it over 50. I was #51! Hmmmm? 17x3=51. 17! (1+2+3...17) =153; 51x3=153 -the # of great fish in the net in the Bible. THAT is a VERY interesting number! (But that's for another blog- see my blog on "17 What a number!" on

The camp is not 100% done so we all stay in the HUGE medium security for now. We have a great view of Mt. Washington where the greatest wind speed on earth was recorded. (243? mph!) Moose and bear come to sniff out the camp regularly. Hmmm? Hope the bears are not hungry!

Because the prison and camp are brand new there are no books in the library. No chaplain yet, no piano, no Bibles etc. If you feel led to send some books that I can then donate to the library please contact [edited to remove name and email address] so he can coordinate so I don't get more than 5/day. We need KJ Bibles, a Concordance, Bible doctrines book, any good Christian novels (Shack, Heaven is for Real, etc) or books on creation (The Evolution Handbook, Secrets of the Ica Stones, In the beginning by Walt Brown, Noah's Ark by Mary Nell Wyatt, etc). Spanish and French for Dummies (i.e.-me) or any other books God lays on your heart.

The camp has one large open dorm with lines painted on the floor to indicate the "cubes." Each two man cube is about 8 ft x 6.5 feet and has a bunk bed, two lockers and a desk. The most crowded sleeping area I have seen in my travels. This is my 5th one.

The staff here are mostly new as well. They were very friendly and helpful as we processed in. It was SUCH a blessing! I pray THAT doesn't change. Every other place I have been seems to have a few staff who think it is there job to make life as miserable as possible for the men. Hello! We are in prison! Away from our families, jobs and friends. We are not here FOR punishment, we are here AS punishment (or, in many cases, vindictiveness or persecution). Some don't know the vast difference between power and authority. I was school principal and I know you can maintain strick discipline and still be NICE and FRIENDLY as you do your job. Anyway, pray for them to keep the helpful attitude as this place swells up. Better yet, pray the who-o-o-o-o-ole federal system downsizes about 90% so we can go home and save a FORTUNE and reunite families. Support legislation to REDUCE the system and time served. States give about 20% of the time for the same crimes because they can't print money to pay for it. WHEN Jesus saw the need He was moved with compassion.... Hmmm? why not before? When Ezekiel was "among the captives," he got a burden from the Lord. Several bills like HR 223 will cut time to 50% and send me home! Please support them!!!

[edited to remove name and email address] is still working hard on various aspects of the case. He and the others who study it are very confident it can all be overturned! Contact him for updates to to help with expenses. Please pray Acts 12:5 style for my soon release!

I thank all of you who contacted Senator Marco Rubio about this move. It is still not too late! They can move me closer any time they want. One man had his family call the Grand Prairie, TX transfer center 3 times a week because of the hardship the distance placed on the family and they finally got tired of the calls and moved him. Hmmm? See Luke 18? about the unjust judge. (I don't have my Bible-or any Bible- so I can't find the exact place right now.)

Romans 8:28!

Kent Hovind

  1. How do you receive these updates from Mr. Hovind? We didn't find a "follow" button or email box.

  2. I'm not trying to be hateful but why do you even care about hovind? Don't you realize that he preaches repentance of sins as a prerequisite for salvation? just watch anyone of his video seminars, not the live ones that he does at universites or live audiences. How do you not know this?

    1. Oh c'mon. Most Christians say "repent of your sins", meaning "put your faith in Christ to take away your sins". I know, I know... they shouldn't do this, but Christians are still human beings and they make mistakes and it takes a lot of time and study to perfect how they share the gospel. No sense in turning your back on a brother in Christ just because he's not right about everything!

    2. Anonymous - I don't agree with many Kent Hovind's teachings, but are you sure you understand what repentance means? It is necessary for salvation, for if we do not feel inside that we are miserable, lost sinners, and feel truly sorry for our sins, there can be no true conversion. Repentance has been "redefined," over the years; but when it originally appeared in the Bible, it had this meaning -

1250–1300; Middle English repenten < Old French repentir, equivalent to re- re- + pentir to feel sorrow (< Latin paenitÄ“re to regret, be sorry); see penitent []

      2 Peter 3:9

      King James Version (KJV)

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The problem with the seeker-friendly,last church age, is that sin is not preached. People do not feel deeply sorrowful (repentant,) so there is no true conversion. The churches are full to the brim (and often the pulpits as well) with false converts.

    3. Kent Hovind does NOT believe in repentance from sins being a prerequisite to salvation. I know that at the end of his older seminars, he somewhat sounded like he did, but he was wrong and realizes that now.

  3. I've recently watched 6 of the 7 Creation Seminars (I'm on number 7 now and really enjoy them). Your comment is technically correct, because at the end of each seminar he does give a plan of salvation, stating that you have to "repent of your sins" in order to be saved. I do not agree with that doctrine whatsoever and preach against it any chance I get. However, I when visited Arizona earlier this year and stopped by Faithful Word Baptist Church (great church by the way), Pastor Anderson assured me that Kent Hovind does not preach the "repent of your sins" heresy anymore. Just put it like this, Hovind was wrong at that that time of his life. Prior to Pastor Anderson telling me that, I didn't even know that Kent Hovind even existed. We were just having a casual conversation and Hovind came up. Ever since then, I knew that Hovind was not an heretic and support him too.

And look, we are talking about Pastor Anderson here, the same man who has owns the repentance blacklist website. Wouldn't Kent Hovind be on there if he was still a heretic? And wouldn't the Anderson family not support him either. After watching his seminars, my guess is that he was getting some of his doctrine from Chick Tracts (since he was promoting some of their books) at the time, so thats why he was preaching repent of your sins. But people change and learn more over time, so we shouldnt be too harsh on the guy (Remember the Apostle Paul... Acts 9). I'm sure he even feels worse than us..... He is preaching the correct doctrine now, so hopefully that clears some things up

    1. Thank you. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  4. A couple of sstatements in Mr. Hovind's letter are troublesome. Deeply disturbing, actually.

"We saw the Statue of Liberty and I wondered what she was thinking of America's prison $y$tem? Here she was holding up her torch offering freedom for the 'huddled masses yearning to be free' as a bus load of prisoners in shackles drove by."

How is it possible that he doesn't know what the Statue of Liberty really is?

The Statue of Liberty is Artemis, Diana, Semiramis, Astarte, Ishtar. . .There is one for every culture and generation. Only it isn't a woman - it is the extremely beautiful, and deceitful - Lucifer. How could he be ignorant of this? While I do not believe New York City to be "Mystery Babylon," here is a link to an informative video that introduces some of the history behind "Lady Liberty."

Mr. Hovind also asks for "any good Christian novels (Shack, Heaven is for Real, etc)" How could any man of God think that "The Shack," is a good Christian book? He could only if he is of the Kingdom Now, Emergent Church persuasion, which I find to be completely un-Scriptural. You'd have to be spiritually blind not to catch this -

Using the New Age term “ground of being” to describe “God,” the “Jesus” of The Shack states:

“God, who is the ground of all being, dwells in, around, and through all things….” (p. 112)

Is Kent Hovind blind? Apparently so, and if that is the case, then I pray that the Lord God of all creation, send someone to him in prison, to teach him the Truth.

    Psalm 71:1

    King James Version (KJV)

71 In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

  5. 17! doesn't mean (1+2+3+4+5...+17), it represents (1x2x3x4x5..x17).

    17! = 3.557E14 FAR from 153 & his numerology theory...

  6. No repentance to be a Christian really??? Sounds a little shady to me. Agree that The Shack is a horrible book, though I think He's been too busy preaching in prisons getting people saved to read it and argue with you about that book though. Definitely want him out of prison cause he actually seeks and teaches truth with an open mind, no matter how much old he is, and he doesn't just believe Fox News like most of the American Christians of today.

  7. Wow! Yes, "wow" seems to be the best way to express my thoughts right now. I'm speaking of this "no repentance" salvation being discussed in the comments of this blog. I am wondering if, maybe, there is just simply a misunderstanding of words, or terminology being used haphazardly? And I am very disturbed to hear that Dr. Hovind no longer believes in "repentance" salvation. Is this really true??? Will someone please explain this to me?

One commenter said, "And look, we are talking about Pastor Anderson here, the same man who has owns the repentance blacklist website."

Where is this website? Does this website explain what repentance means and what it is for and why it has nothing to do with salvation?

My main concern for Dr. Hovind in the past was more of an "easy believeism" salvation. You know, "1, 2, 3, pray after me..." rather than a heart salvation. I also had a very high respect for him for using the KJV. His son does not seem to hold to this high of a standard. I still love and pray for Dr. Hovind. But I will be really disappointed if he has changed on these issues.

  8. The basic definition of repentance is: TURNING. That's it! TURNING. Do a word search in your King James Bible and you will see that God Himself repents on several occasions concerning certain things and concerning other things He will NEVER repent.

Repentance is often preached as turning from sin to God. This is Biblical. We find it all through the Bible. But that is not the only kind of repentance the Bible speaks of (that is not the only kind of "turning" the Bible speaks of). It is also important to know that repentance is not always talking about salvation of or from our sin and hell. Many times it is referring to salvation from problems in this world that sin causes and the problems sin brings into our lives. Example: Repent of smoking (or turn from breathing smoke to breathing clean air) and you will begin to breath easier. Or, repent of sinning against your loved ones and be saved from their wrath and, moreover, they will begin to love you more.

Here is an example of God using the word "repent" saying He will NOT repent:

Jeremiah 4:27-29 "For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and WILL NOT REPENT, neither will I TURN back from it."

Here is an example of God using the word "repent" saying He WILL repent:

Jeremiah 18:9-10 "And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I WILL REPENT of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them."

Again, the basic definition of the word repent is: TURNING or "to turn from."

When talking about salvation we need to be careful that we do not add works to salvation (must a person turn from sin and clean their life up before they can get saved? That is an impossibility!). So, what is this other kind of repentance I am talking about? It is simple. So simple that most people cannot, or rather, will not accept it. Referring back to the basic definition of repentance (turning, or, to turn from) we see that repentance is turning from man's way (your way) of salvation to God's way. That is, to deny yourself and put your trust in Him. There is no work involved. But repentance is a MUST! That is, you MUST turn from yourself (your ideas, your beliefs, your works, your whatever, etc,....) and trust in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Concerning salvation, REPENTANCE and BELIEF are two sides of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other. They both go hand in hand. To believe anything else would be believing in a corrupted idea of salvation.

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." 2 Corinthians 11:3-4

Read also Galatians 1:6-9 (another gospel which is not another) and Galatians 2:16 (not justified by works).

Here is a wonderful website for more research on the subject:
